The audience will receive a wide and varied art experience during The Tall Ships Races.
Anna Berthelsen
Anna Berthelsen will create a non-traditional art exhibition in a container during the TSR. The theme of the exhibition is SLOW TIME. Materials that will be used in the exhibition will be old sails, aluminium, acrylic, tar, salt, sand and photography.
Berthelsen will also create an art exhibition for the main stage during TSR.
Kindergartens in Kristiansand will partner with Berthelsen’s art project for the Small Ships Races. Together they will create 1001 bark boats that will be shown during the TSR.
Dynamic Pavilion
Five young artists associated with Sørlandet; Tori Wrånes, Jens Stegger Leedal, Trond Nicholas Perry, Erik Pirolt and Sandra Norrbin will provide a dynamic arts exhibition at Fiskerikaia during the event.
Street Art
Terje Andersen from Spray Box Art Hall in Kristiansand will create graffiti art during the event with sailing ships as the main theme. This is open for the public to watch.
Sand Sculpture Park
Sand Sculpture Kristiansand will be organised for the first time during the Tall Ships Races 2010. Project manager for this is artist Elisabeth Kristensen. Through participation in Hovden Snow and Ice, she has built up an extensive network of natural art in the international art scene. In July, a number of local and international artists will join together in Kristiansand and create monumental sculptures in the sand pits.
