The Tall Ships Race song
As a greeting from us we have made The Tall Ships races song. We love it and we hope it will stick with you, both while in Kristiansand and also further in the race. A cd will be handed out to all the ships in Aalborg. We encourage you to use the cd eagerly, day and night, so when you reach Kristiansand you can sing it by heart. As they fill the horizon will be used on many occasions during your stay with us, and you might be scoring extra points by performing the song in the crew parade, the shanty contest and in other activities!
The music is made by Bjørn Ole Rasch and the tekst by Alex Scherpff. Song is by Helene Bøksle and Torstein Sødal with the choirs Fullriggeren Sørlandet Shantykor, Gåsehud, Førstereis – Sørlandets barnesjanti and a group from the childrens choir Jubilo.
As they fill the horizon
1.
As they fill the horizon,
Fill the horizon -
Sailing the seven seas of the world
Let the winds of our hopes,
The breeze from our heart
be the tailwind
to bring them back home.
Pacific, Atlantic, the Cape
Oceans apart, they are one
Sharing one destination:
Circles of latitude
Embracing the seven seas
Ref.
Tall Ships Races
Oceans apart
Yet one in their heart
They are going places
Sailing the seas
of their dreams
2.
Let our hearts be their harbour
Hearts be their harbour
Shelter the noble cause of their quest
Be the port of their dreams
A home to the joy
And a promise
To conquer the sea
The Schooner, the Clipper, the Brig
Setting the sails, they unite
Sharing one destination:
Circles of latitude
Embracing the seven seas
Ref.
Tall Ships Races
Oceans apart
yet one in their heart
They are going places
Sailing the seas
Bridge
Pacific, Atlantic, the Cape
Oceans apart, they belong
The Schooner, the Clipper, the Brig
Setting sails, they unite as one
Ref.
Tall Ships Races
Oceans apart
Yet one in their heart
They are going places
Sailing the seas
Of the
Tall Ships Races
Oceans apart
Yet one in their heart
They are going places
Sailing the seas
of their dreams
